Getting Started

The first step to starting a FCA huddle for all volunteers and teacher/staff sponsors is to complete our online volunteer training and application.

Volunteers

Your Role


As a volunteer for a FCA Elementary huddle your role will be to disciple the student leadership team and support them as they disciple the large group participants.


You will:

  • Assist student leaders in scheduling and confirming speakers.
  • Ensure students get where they need to be after meetings on time.
  • Bring and distribute snacks (optional)
  • Be there to offer support to the meetings overall.

Teacher Sponsor/

Huddle Leader

Your Role


As a staff/teacher sponsor and huddle leader for a FCA Elementary huddle your role will be to serve as the liaison between the FCA staff and volunteers and the school.


You will:

  • Ensure proper protocol is maintained in getting students to school on time if meeting in the mornings or to the proper place once the meetings end if meeting after school.
  • Make are that the building and meeting location is open and ready for the meetings.
  • Get all communication weather paper flyers or emails to parents approved by administration.

Coach/

Huddle Leader

Your Role


As the coach and huddle leader for a FCA Elementary huddle your role will be to serve as the liaison between the FCA staff & volunteers, parents and the league director.


You will:

  • Obtain permission to offer an optional bible study for your team
  • Communicate meeting information to parents.
  • Lead the Bible study/ Devotional time or support another certified volunteer in doing so.

Next Steps



  • Have a minimum of 3 certified volunteers for each huddle in addition to a staff/teacher sponsor.
  • Secure a staff/teacher sponsor
  • Decide on desired meeting structure:
  • frequency
  • day
  • time
  • Schedule a meeting with your FCA staff person to discuss your plans and next steps.
  • Get approval from your FCA staff to move forward with administration meeting.


Next Steps


  • Complete the volunteer application and training
  • Wait for volunteers to present you with the FCA staff approved proposed meeting structure.
  • Take proposal to Administration.
  • this may be done with the volunteers and FCA staff or without.
  • Determine the best day, time, location and frequency with administration and make adjustments to proposal as needed.
  • Present approved meeting plan to volunteers and FCA staff.
